FREE SAMPLE / CHAPTER ONE
Start with one week.
A small experiment is easier to adjust than a whole new system.
Choose a calm ten-minute window. Each person may pass on a question or pause the conversation. Pick one recurring household task that creates friction; do not audit your entire relationship.
An opening to borrow
“Could we try a simpler plan for this week and see whether it helps?”
Agree on a review date. Success means a clearer next step, not perfect agreement.
Try this together
- Name one task that keeps creating confusion.
- Describe what a finished version would look like.
- Choose who will own it this week, including planning and follow-up.
- Set a time to review whether that agreement worked.
If the exercise feels tense, make it smaller or pause. You do not need to agree on everything today.
